PinyinWriter helps you type pinyin with tones which you can then copy and paste into other apps such as Wechat, Facebook, Messenger, or even MS Word!
Why write “Ni(3) hao(3)! Ni(3) jiao(4) shen(2) me ming(2) zi(4)?” when you can write “Nǐ hǎo! Nǐ jiào shén me míng zì?”
Most pinyin keyboards convert pinyin input into Chinese characters, but Pinyin writer leaves you with your original pinyin with tone marks!
Instructions:
Method 1: Enter an initial and final followed by the tone number. Pinyin writer will convert the correct vowel to the the character with the tone mark. For example, enter “Zhao3” and it will convert to “Zhǎo”. For Capital letters, enter the vowel followed by the tone number. For ü or Ü use tone number five: Example u5 converts to ü.
Method 2: Type your initial then your vowel, then hit the appropriate button (1,2,3,4, or 5) to select the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th tone. Click 5 to add the two dots above a character. Pinyin writer will insert the vowel with the tone mark into your text.
After entering your pinyin text, simply use your operating system features to select, copy and paste (or the app buttons) to copy and paste your pinyin into your favorite app such as Wechat, Messenger, etc…
